Obama's church in violation of federal law

The IRS has banned any political endorsements from taking place in 501(c)(3) organizations, including churches and charities. This is not new.

"The prohibition against political campaign activity has been in effect for more than half a century and bars certain tax-exempt organizations from engaging on behalf of or in opposition to political candidates. However, these organizations can engage in advocating for or against issues" see full article

However, the pastor of Barak Obama's church can be seen clearly violating this law.

According to Revenue Ruling 2007-41 (26 CFR 1.501(c)(3)-1):
Even if a statement does not expressly tell an audience to vote for or against a specific candidate, an organization delivering the statement is at risk of violating the political campaign intervention prohibition if there is any message favoring or opposing a candidate. View PDF File

The article goes on to clarify that stating the candidate's name is such a violation. So it is legal, of course, to teach and proclaim religious sentiments that are potentially antagonistic to particular candidates as long as it is a blanket statement about beliefs and values, but when said candidate's name is mentioned, it is a violation. Will the IRS remove the tax-exempt status of Obama's church? If they do, we'll be sure to hear about it in the news.

The increased female use of porn

There is an increasing number of women who are hooked on internet pornography.

Rich Tatum writes,

Our culture and what we spend our time thinking about are literally changing the way our brains are wired. As a result, women are getting rewired to be more visual and aggressive

For years women have been understood through psychological research and observation to be typically less visually stimulated than men. There have always been deviants from the norm, but what most likely is leading to an increase in the female population's pornography use are shows like "Sex and the City," "Desparate Housewives," "Lipstick Jungle," and "Gray's Anatomy," among many others. In these shows, affairs are glamorized, and the viewer finds him/herself cheering for the affair to take place, as they are presented the story from the perspective of the tempted spouse. This plants a seed of interest and acceptance of marital infidelity.

Concurrent to that, images of semi-nude and fully nude attractive young males have become much more commonplace in the media (especially in Abercrombie ads), most likely as a result of the homosexual revolution the country has been experiencing since the days of Ellen and her "outing." The BRAVO channel, the "Fab Five" and many other media endeavors that are not only gay-friendly but gay-endorsing have led to the "open-mindedness" of the country, and the blatant attack by the mainstream media upon traditionally Biblical values, specifically producing a complete misunderstanding of the picture painted of Christ as a male husband and the church as his female bride. His love for her drove him to ransom his life for hers, and in her wonder at his deep love for her, she is driven to follow him and respect him.

This progression away from Biblical values in our culture comes down to the simple fact that many people do not know Christ, and therefore we should not be surprised that this is happening. They do not understand him as the husband who cares for his wife, and washes her, and clothes her in white linen to present her spotless before the Holy King. Why do we expect the world to hold to Biblical standards when they do not value them? Rather, we as Christians must protect our lifestyles from conforming to worldly standards.

Tatum further writes,

it's not only through repeated exposure to sexual imagery on TV, in advertising, or online. The primary agent of this mental transformation is due to how we use our minds: what we spend our time thinking about, fantasizing about, and meditating on. Our brains and thoughts are molded by what we surf for, how we chat, and what we write. This negative transformation is the diametric opposite (and dramatic fulfillment) of the principles found in Romans 12:1-2:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
