Pae Mor Munee (or read this and save $5)
Don't buy the Chick-Fil-A calendar this year! This is a detailed list of what the coupons will get you: (with each coupon, you have to buy something, so ultimately you spend about $75 + tax and get about $15 back)
You Must Buy:
1. Chargrilled Chicken Sandwich
2. Fruit Cup
3. 4-piece strips
4. Any Combo
5. Cool Wrap
6. Any Sandwich
7. Chargrilled Chicken Salad
8. Any $20 purchase
9. 2007 Calendar
10. Nuggets Party Tray
This comes to about $75 before tax, not to mention that you've already spent $5 on the calendar at this point.
Here's what you get for "Free":
-Small Soup
-Bottle of Water
-Small Ice Cream
-4 Large drinks
-2 Chicken Salad Sandwiches
(cheapest sandwich on menu)
-2 Gallons of Tea
Notice that almost all of the "free" stuff is some type of liquid, which is the biggest markup in fast food. I like Chick-Fil-A, but I implore you, PLEASE do not buy the calendar this year.

I love chick-fil-a. I probably won't get a calendar, but I gotta stick up for best fast food place in the world!!
I agree. The best. Yet, DO NOT BUY THE CALENDAR!!
I am sorry but I read this and highly oppose!! Okay- so I am a little obsessed with Chick-fil-a. I live in Mexico and have for the past year... when asked what food I miss the most- it is Chick-fil-a. (I am going on 10 months with no chick-fil-a!) I worked there when I was 15 and have bought a calender ever since. I actually have the calendar up in my classroom. I agree- this sounds a little strange to spend so much money when you get so little for free. However, if you were going to spend the money anyways- why not get something a little free? AND have a cute calendar?! It actually is on my list to ask my family to send me at Christmas! I don't need the coupons- it is more for sentimental reasons! I know you didn't post this for opposing view points... but I say- Support Chick-fil-A! They are a great company! Don't they give away enough free stuff?!
I worked there when I was 17-18, my sister when she was 16-20, and my brother when he was 16, and we've always bought the calendars too. These are not coupons, they are advertisements that you have to pay for.
(See the pictures if you don't believe me.)
I mean, I'm glad you miss it and all, and like I said it's the best fast food ever. But don't waste money on the calendar. If you go look in a dumpster somewhere you'll probably find hundreds of them because I'm sure everyone will be throwing them away when they look inside.
Actually, I AM going to buy the calendar b/c cows in chain-mail is just COOL (and highly hilarious). I've never been a coupon woman...don't plan on starting now.
Besides...I've only eaten at Chik-fil-A once. It was OK... I guess.

Amy if you read this - I'm curious how a journeyman in Mexico has stumbled across all of our SBTS blogs?
Do you ever get to go to Cancun? Why don't you have a blog? It'd be a good way to keep everyone in the states up with what's going on there!
J-Man, you love Chick-fil-a so much you shouldn't waste time buying their calendars; you should just go ahead and invest in their stock.
Remember in college when you kept trying to persuade Sara, Amy, and me to go in with you on a nugget tray so we could get a free brownie tray, too? Of course you remember that... it was like every other week.
How did I stumble across all the SBTS blogs? From my dear friend Morgan's site. We have been friends since High School and I saw some wise comments on her site- so I decided to see what your blogs looked like. So, one day when I am sure I should have been doing something else- I read your post requesting ladies help. I wasn't going to comment b/c well, I don't know you all... but I did anyway and have been interested in hearing back on what others have to say.
I have looked into seminary after Journeyman- and SBTS is one that I have looked into. So, you all going there- I thought it would be a good way to see how seminary life is. I have to say- it looks fun!
Yes, I do have a site- amyinmexico.blogspot.com
It mostly is for my prayer partners to see and hear about what is going on in Mexico. I send out a monthly newsletter also- that has more specifics on ministry stuff. So, my site is not nearly as discussion oriented... but that is not its intention. So, I enjoy visiting those that do engage discussion.
No, I haven't been to Cancun yet... and I think I will wait about a year so they can get it up and running again after the hurricane. However, I am planning a trip to the beach for Thanksgiving- either to Acapulco or to Puerta Vallarta! Spending Thanksgiving on the beach... ahhh- just thinking about it makes me smile! They are only 5-8 hours away... so why not go?
I hope you all don't mind me visiting your sites- I realized after I commented that you all know eachother well and I am kind of the strange girl from Mexico leaving strange comments. It has been fun for me to see what is going on in the states from you alls posts!
Ok, I laughed....I actually benefit more from the 'free sandwich' coupons they bring by our church about once a quarter...thanks for the warning ; )
Scott- maybe when I come down for thanksgiving we can all go in on a nugget tray.
Well now that I think about it, all you get now is a gallon of tea instead of a brownie tray, about 15 dollars less. I'd rather bake some thick sliced bacon like we normally do.
Forget that, hey scooter, wanna make a sandwich?
Let's make a sandwich.
And Bonnie:
I'd call this a "letdown of mythic proportions" much like seeing Elizabethtown a second time. :)
It's definitely a Loose-Loose situation for both parties.
I make sure i will whine and bark to the cows. HOHO.
Thanks for the warning. I'm a sucker for a good coupon. Especially when it concerns sweet tea!
Thanks for commenting on my blog. I left a comment on your halloween post to answer your question. I'm feeling quite left out...no chick-Fil-A anywhere near here.
Not to curtail all the fun, but I think you should write about your musings on Christ and his bride soon...I'm curious.
And...I might just have to have me some Chick-fil-A for lunch...
mmmm.chik-fil-a. my FAVorite. But I have to agree...the calendars, while quite amusing with it's sky-diving or knighted cows, is not really worth the money. The only thing I ever order from the good ol' cfa is the nuggets and there are never any coupons regarding those.
AMY-I, much like you, began reading all of these blogs through a friend (Nikki Tatom). I am considering going to SBTS as well and it's fun getting to read about that life before I get there(assuming that God will ever place me there). But, don't feel alone. I don't know anyone either.
I think you and I have class together but I'm not sure. Are you in Temple's Minister of Youth?

Jonathan, where are you?
Did that tornado come anywhere near you?
I guess not. I was busy watching the North take over Atlanta. (see above post).
I'm selling those callenders to raise money to goto YoungLyfe camp. Five bucks to send a kid to camp isn't much to ask. I say buy the callender, just don't use the coupons.
Hardly anyone actually uses the coupons anyway.
I say jiss sell ever'thang you own and bye yuh a John Deyer Tracter-n-put onenim Jet Turbine Engines own at sucker so yikin' moe yah grays queeker-n-all so yikin' have more time gittin'em chickin's cut up nyse-n-good.
